Welcome to SocialMusic.fm, the successor site to the legendary "Bootleg Archive", resource to traders and collectors of live and unofficial recordings for over a decade. Our new site contains rich new features for handling all types of media, social networking features, and of course the library of information Bootleg Archive has gathered over the years. We also provide external connections for you to directly access media sources of the recordings described here.
SocialMusic.fm provides a place for users to organize their music collections, as well as find other members to negotiate trades, and tracking which recordings are in circulation. Our vast library of "bootlegs" is the result of contributions by many individuals over the years, describing the cd-rs and lps in their own collections. The information includes liner notes, cover art, source and geographic information, and copies of the checksum files that verified the losslessly compressed audio tracks that comprised their submissions. Some of these contributors added their bootleg list information and departed long ago, while others are still active in the community and willing to share with new collectors.
